My husband and I decided to have our white painted brick fireplace refaced. We visited the Schwake Stone showroom and spoke with Dean Hoeft about the project. Dean showed us the various options of stone, hearths and mantels. We settled on the basic decisions for our project opting for natural stone with tinted mortar. Schwake sent Danny to work up the estimate on the fireplace.

In our discussion, he suggested some design options that we had not previously considered. These options incorporated into the design and ultimately added significantly to the final look. Noe Calderon and his crew did a fabulous installation, flawlessly blending new drywall into the existing structure. The carpentry, stone placement and final grouting were completed in a single day.

Noe was responsive to our questions and suggestions, fully explaining the progress and next steps of the project. We had opted for tinted mortar, but noticed some color variation the following day after the mortar had fully cured. Noe returned the next day and was able to blend the colors to a much more consistent finish. When we painted the new drywall, the remodel looked like it was original to the room. We could not be happier with outcome. The new fireplace has completely transformed the look of the room.

On behalf of the Lock Lomond community, we would like to thank you for being a supporter and sponsor of our annual Loch Fest event. We had over 450 people attend this year while experiencing some "good ole" family fun. Loch Fest 2010 provided some great food, activities/ games, raffles, and an opportunity to learn more about our lake and surrounding environment.
