Schwake Stone Becomes Certified Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE)

 Mundelein, IL – May 16, 2011 – Robert Schwake Stone Company, Inc., a business specializing in quality natural stone, brick and fireplace materials, received national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women's Business Development Center - Chicago Certification Committee, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

 WBENC’s national standard of certification implemented by Women's Business Development Center - Chicago Certification Committee, is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.

 Regarding companies engaging in business with Robert Schwake Stone Company, by including women-owned businesses among their vendors, corporations and government agencies can demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier/ vendor diversity programs.

Robert F. Schwake began delivering stones in 1946, and with that first delivery, a tradition of quality, service and satisfaction was set into motion that we still value today - 65 years later. As the company grew and our reputation expanded, we began receiving requests for a more diversified product selection. In the 1960s we acquired additional yard space to accommodate more stone products, and the addition of saws to custom cut limestone on-site.
